Title: “Princess of São Tomé and Príncipe”
Description of the work:On a walk around the village of Neves, in the northwest of São Tomé island, I was watching and photographing the fishermen returning from the sea in their canoes, when the embarrassed laughter of children caught my attention. When I turned around, there were three little girls in colorful clothes standing in this doorway. They were laughing a lot and trying to call out to me, because they were looking at me with the camera in my hand and they also wanted to be photographed. Once again, photography helped break down barriers and brought us closer together, laughing a lot at that moment. I went back to the island a few months later and made sure I took the printed photo to give to them!
